Description

This sumptuous bed with an eventful wooden decor is magnified by a polychromy alternating Venetian blue and golden highlights.

In a pyramidal shape, the decoration consists of plant motifs, garlands of flowers, windings which are drawn around a conch in the upper part. This decoration frames, in its center, a cartouche revealing a Cupid seated in a grove of roses.

The rest of the painted decoration evokes Antique art, in particular with young women dressed in tunics, flights of ribbons and scrolls, as well as flowered vases.

The uprights take the form of columns with twisted fluting, surmounted by vases of fruit. The column is decorated with acanthus leaves.
