This personage with a well marked temper, carved in oak wood, certainly comes from a larger set depicting a scene from the life of the Christ for example.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is represented with his right arm raised, ready to strike with the object he held in his hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is dressed as a warrior, armor covering the bust, above a long tunic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Represented in a very realistic manner\u00a0: mouth open revealing three teeth and wrinkles of age marked on the side of the chin and neck.<\/span><\/p>\n

He recalls the many faces of the characters represented in the Flemish altarpieces.<\/span><\/p>\n
