He began his career as a talented ornamentalist working in plaster, stucco, wood and bronze. In 1936, he received an order and sculpted the bust of Auguste Marin, then mayor of the town of Saint-Maur. A large part of its production is carried out in Madagascar and Reunion. His sculpture is both simple in line but direct in impact.
