This beautiful oakwood chest stands on a moulded base carved with circular shapes. The facade presents seven panels incorporated in the structure. Those panels bear a decor carved deep in the wood, depicting three male saints standing in niches. Three by three, they frame the scene of the Resurrection in the centre. Christ is standing, wearing the perizonium<\/i> and a coat on his shoulders. He raises his right hand as a sign of blessing. With his left hand he holds a stick shaped as a cross. At his feet appear two guards asleep.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Between each panel are applied carved baluster-shaped columns.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the rectangular panels are figured six apostles. On the far left is Saint Paul. Although he was not one of the apostles, he is often included by artists. Saint Paul holds in his right hand the sword that served for his martyr. Next to him is James the Great. He carries his volumen<\/i> of the New Law and a walking stick in his left hand as a pilgrim. <\/i>Saint Bartholomew is figured with the large knife with which he was flayed. He also carries a book.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
