Ce Coffre est particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressant par sa structure et sa composition, qui sont d\u2019une grande simplicit\u00e9.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sa massivit\u00e9 extr\u00eame indique bien ses origines de fabrication dans un atelier de petite cogn\u00e9e. Les montants, tr\u00e8s larges et tr\u00e8s \u00e9pais sont assembl\u00e9s \u00e0 tenons et mortaises, montrant parfaitement que pieds et montants ne sont qu\u2019une seule planche de bois.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

En fa\u00e7ade, les quatre arcatures plein cintre sont de la plus grande sobri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n

La serrure tout \u00e0 fait m\u00e9di\u00e9vale, s\u2019accorde bien avec l\u2019ensemble tr\u00e8s architectur\u00e9 de ce meuble, que l\u2019on peut ais\u00e9ment dater de la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 du XV\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La tr\u00e8s belle qualit\u00e9 du noyer, sa couleur un peu miel, l\u2019exceptionnelle harmonie de la composition, font de ce coffre un t\u00e9moin int\u00e9ressant du mobilier gothique fran\u00e7ais.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
