Description

Simple in the structure, this chest is made of beautiful walnut with mortice and tenon joints. It rests on a simply cut base.

It presents on the facade a series of five semi-circular arches under which linenfolds of fine quality are sculpted.. The spandrels are decorated with flowers. Each arch is separated by a twisted column whose model varies.

The sides are carved with a round arch. They have wrought iron handles.

Thus, everything in this chest recalls the Gothic architectural vocabulary, making this chest a fine quality work of the wood carvers of the end of the 15th century.
