Description

This exceptional suite of six walnut armchairs corresponds perfectly to the Louis XIV period.

These armchairs rest on a “sheep bone” base whose four inverted console legs – that is to say with an inflection in the middle part – are connected by an H-shaped spacer whose center is decorated with a leaf of acanthus. The armrests show a pronounced curve which ends in a decorated butt which harmonizes with that of the base.

The size of the armrests and their console gives the seats a lot of character. The windings of the feet give a perfect replica to the butts of the armrests.

These seats with their elegant lines are typical of the end of the 17th century.
