Description
The chest was an essential piece of furniture during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Simple and harmonious in its composition, this chest, mounted on flattened ball feet, is crafted from beautiful walnut wood with a well-preserved patina.
Elegant thanks to its small size, its ornamentation emphasizes its structure.
It rests on a molded base carved with roses and palmettes.
It features a central panel framed by two uprights richly decorated with cherub heads extending vertically into round, well-defined fruit drops.
The upper crosspiece running around the chest features a wide frieze of leafy shells centered on a beautiful winged angel’s head.
On the sides, two wrought iron handles recall the chest’s mobile function, intended to follow its owner to their various homes.
