Description

René Rovelotti, The son and grandson of Italian immigrants from Lombardy, René Rovellotti discovered his passion for sculpture at the age of 14. Later, he attended the Beaux-Arts in Aix-en-Provence and studied under renowned regional masters. Today, Rovellotti reminisces fondly about those years of apprenticeship; this discreet, warm, and smiling man seeks to recreate that atmosphere in his workshop, surrounded by his students.

He draws inspiration from the significant moments of his life and finds his freedom in his workshop. He allows his imagination and creativity to flow, giving shape to new subjects.

For the sculptor, transforming a work with clean lines into bronze is a culmination, as it adds a new dimension, both in terms of longevity and sublimation, thanks to the noble metal.

“And when the result is beautiful, you can imagine the pleasure that fills me,” he says.

“My creative approach is guided by the desire to imprint in the material the forms that arise from my imagination.”

This sensitive approach gives my work a capacity for renewal that leads me into a new adventure each time. René Rovellotti, a complete artist, showcased his works in various disciplines he practiced: painting, sculpture, in the wonderful gallery with Cistercian rigor that he himself built, arranged, and decorated in Saint Chamas.
