Description

This fine Italian table, specifically designed to function as a desk, is conceived for use both open and closed.
When closed, it serves primarily as a console table or display table.

The rectangular top, hinged at the centre, folds down to form a writing surface. When opened, the fall-front reveals two drawers.
The lower section also opens with two frieze drawers.

Ingeniously designed, this table-desk stands on four turned legs in baluster and spool form, connected by a stretcher.

Made of fine walnut, this table-desk, both sober and elegant, is a rare example of Italian Renaissance furniture of the 16th century, particularly from the Bologna region.
