Description

This is a rare pair of andirons with brass finials being presented here.

The base, with a notched arch design, ends in a finely chiseled scroll. It houses a large undulating rosette that cascades on either side into fleur-de-lis motifs. Two leaves, chiseled with veins and pierced with eyelets, are placed side by side and curve forward in volutes, adding depth and dimension to this beautiful piece of ironwork.

The composition continues with a robust central shaft, rising in a square section before transforming into a boldly twisted form full of dynamic energy, culminating in four finely chiseled scrolls adorned with reserved-pattern motifs. Above, a beautiful gilt brass finial reigns.

At the base of the shaft, a front-facing hook projects outward, echoing the same design vocabulary as the central column. Gently curved, it adds a sense of movement and elegance to this distinguished pair of andirons.
