Description

This veil is made of nine square pieces put together with a stiching. Vegetal and geometrical motives surround an IHS inscription made with a punto tagliato stich. This technique of making holes in the canvas then strengthened with a chain stich here with gold threads appears during the 16th century.
A similar veil was part of the Spink and Son collection in London, now in a private collection.
