These doors were exhibited in 1969 at the Blanckenberge Casino, with fifteen other sculptures and forty drawings. His works show his inner strength and show great spontaneity in execution.

GILBERT DE SMET

Born in 1932 to Erembodegem in Belgium.

1945 – 1952, Studies at the Academy of Alost.

1955, Prize of the city of Wachau for his work.

 

He participated in several group exhibitions :
