Description

Canopy bed in hammered and gilded wrought iron with openwork decoration of ringed columns, bouquets of leaves and flowers, the base in double inverted U-shape.

This type of bed was initially a travel bed, easy to dismantle and transport. It became a large bed for resting by being adorned with sumptuous fabrics in countries such as Spain where the work of wrought iron constitutes an important part of the decorative arts.
