Description

These elements undoubtedly came from a much larger set constituting an altarpiece. 

Each wooden panel presents different biblical scenes :

The first two panels focus on the life of the Virgin Mary with the representation of the Annunciation on the left and the Assumption on the right.

On the last two panels, three evangelists are represented : Saint Matthew on the left with the man as a symbol, in the center, truncated, Saint John with the eagle and on the right, Saint Luke, a bull at his feet.
